An update from Ashanti Development, Ghana

Ashanti Development was established in 2005 when London-based Ghanaians asked their friends and neighbours to raise funds to help improve the quality of life of people in their home villages, Since then they have provided clean water and sanitation for 16,000 people, built schools and clinics, established a hardship fund for disabled adults, and helped set up micro-credit schemes in 14 villages.  Ashanti Development requested funding to replace the leaking roof and supporting timbers of a primary school at Nkwanta, part of which was blown away in a storm. Classrooms – Brightlingsea Academy, Ghana

I have recently got back from a trip to Ghana where I was able to see the new classrooms at The Brightlingsea Academy, completely finished and really just looking exceptional.  Thank you so much for your funding towards this part of our work and I'm so pleased the classrooms are finished and used every day. On 12th September 2022 Kitchen Table Charitable Trust provided funds to carry out development works at Dingerai Village in Central River Region (North), the Gambia, West Africa. Borehold project update – Zambia

Drilling of solar-powered borehole to promote Small scale irrigated vegetable growing, processing, and improved rearing of village chickens for food security and increased incomes at the household level. The project activities have been and are still being implemented as planned though with some highlighted challenges. The mixed membership groups are working to sustain the continuity of the project and ensure that the chicken project succeeds.
