The Mlambe Project

We are so very grateful to KTCT for their wonderful grant to support our work in Malawi. The Mlambe Project is a small charity made up entirely of volunteers, mostly young people, who work in an impoverished rural community called Mlambe. The grant will enable us to transform Mlambe School and the educational opportunities for children who deserve a better start in life. Currently over half the pupils are taught outdoors, in very basic conditions, and the few facilities that do exist are terribly overcrowded with up to 90 children in a class. The KTCT grant will fund 4 new…

Thank you so much for your generous donation to Chance to Grow. We are a small charity that is run by a committed team of volunteers, and it is only thanks to individuals and organisations like yourselves that we are able to be there for disadvantaged young people in Kitale, Kenya. Your donation will enable us to begin a poultry farming project at Great Mercy School , with 500 chickens. The school provides quality education to over 300 children that would otherwise have no access to it, and the income generated by this poultry project will go a long way…

We have made ten double beds 2(10) which accommodate 20 deaf pupils The other five ( 5) double beds are on progress. We have dug the toilet for 30fts. the ground surface was very rocky and that made the digging to slow, but now construction of the toilet is going on well. A photograph of the ready beds:

Rainwater Harvesting in Uganda

a message from LUNCH4LEARNING (UGANDA) Project: To build 5 new water tanks each with a 10,000 litre capacity for schools to harvest rainwater. In an environment where children have travelled long distances on foot to get to schools, having access to drinking water will improve sanitation through regular hand washing and also make water available for cooking the lunchtime meals. In at least one of the schools that will be targeted for this project, the nearest water source is 2 kms away and that has proved a deterrent to attending school. We are confident that having water on site will…
