Oyugis Integrated Development Organization is a community-based organization initiated in 2013 through concerted efforts of local artisans to create employment opportunities and education programs for the vulnerable men, women, and youth in Rachuonyo South Sub - County, Homabay County in Kenya. The Dancing Heart K Bakery, Café and Shopping Center Project in Buwenda is an income and skills training center. The project started from the acquisition of the business house to the official launch of its operation in Jinja. We are so lucky to have amazing donors who sacrifice so much to see us push through to sustainability. Thank you supporters of Kitchen Table Charities Trust! Your generous donations made it possible for us to get a very necessary a grant for the purchasing of new carpentry machines for our project at this time of depressed global economy caused by Covid -19.  For years, it has been futile to source funds to equip this workshop! Our organisation looks around for victims of discrimination in its area and studies what sort of vocations and skills can be most utilized in the local economy. The newly bought machines are intended for practical-oriented courses in the carpentry workshops that will allow trainees to make assignments and deliver woodwork crafts that can be sold to generate the income necessary to fund their course materials. Women’s economic and financial opportunities are becoming increasingly relevant at both national and international levels. The importance of addressing the financial literacy of women and girls as a way to improve their financial empowerment, opportunities and well-being was recognized by the G20 leader’s declaration in June 2012, emphasizing the need for women and youth to gain access to financial services and financial education.
