Thriving and Smiling babies in Rural Areas Initiative (Nigeria) – Final Report

The goal of this project is to promote Infant and Maternal health and well‐being in Olokorocommunity, Abia State Nigeria through the provision of clean birth kits and health trainingto underprivileged women. The project was a huge success and well received by Olokoro community. Thelives of project beneficiaries were positively impacted and our goal to improve maternal andinfant health was achieved. On behalf of Hope for KIDS Zimbabwe, I would like to thank the visionary ,John Humphrys ,the Kitchen Table Charities Trust Grant Committee and all the KTCT funding partners for the grant awarded to our orphan trust for us to be able to drill a borehole and for fencing for the Ndapetwa rural community in Chimanimani, Zimbabwe. Your gift will ensure that school children get safe drinking water from the borehole at the same time allowing the community to grow vegetables and plants for their nutrition-reviving any otherwise dry area which was also affected by Cyclone Idai.

Providing desks to schools in Malawi

Mtende Community Project received a grant from KTCT of £6,000.  105 desks have now been completed, 80 desks went to St Michael's Primary School and 25 desks to Emazinyeni Primary school.  After I received the grant, St Michaels received 50 desks from UNICEF funds and I decided to support another 2 primary schools with some desks as they had very few.  A further 25 desks are being made at the moment for Ng'ongo Primary School and then the carpenters will make the 16 teachers desks and chairs for St Michael's Primary School. Dancing Heart K Bakery, Café and Shopping Center Project in Buwenda (Uganda)

The Dancing Heart K Bakery, Café and Shopping Center Project in Buwenda is an income and skills training center. The project started from the acquisition of the business house to the official launch of its operation in Jinja. We are so lucky to have amazing donors who sacrifice so much to see us push through to sustainability. We received a business loan from Karen B which purchased the business house, furnished and also purchased all the shop equipment and supplies plus some of the bakery and cafe equipment.
