Thanks from the Children of Choba (Tanzania)

Children of Choba would like to that KTCT very much for their grant to establish and manage a home study system at Choba Primary School in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Although in Tanzania there are programmes on television for students while schools are closed, many Choba children have no electricity at home and very few have televisions. Here are our teachers designing home study packages for our children, something we could not afford without your support. Asante sana! Child Mobility FOSCIM (MALAWI)

If life for the average, ‘healthy’ Malawian child is poor then life for those with severe mobility problems can be dire. The consequences for the child and its family can be many and debilitating. The Government of Malawi does not provide mobility aids. Even if they could find them, most families would not be able to afford a mobility aid for their child. Without a mobility aid, the child cannot go to school and will have a very limited social life.If the child cannot go to school, in most cases this restricts both parents from working therefore impacting the family…

Thanks from: Uzima in Our Hands (Kenya)

We are delighted that the Kitchen Table Charities Trust is able to support us in replacing the pump to the borehole and installing three water harvesting tanks at Uzima, an Orphan and Day Care Centre that feeds, clothes, and educates 340 vulnerable children in an impoverished area of rural western Kenya. The children will not only benefit from an essential, sustainable water source from now on but also be protected from health hazards such as when the toilets flooded due to excess rainwater that wasn't being collected. These children often only eat and drink at the Centre, and our charity…

Thanks and update from the Simien Mountains Mobile Medical Service

We had a good visit out to the Simien Mountains to check on the project activities, 26 November until 6 December. During our visit we completed a technical site survey for the solar power installation at our clinic in Kiyet with an engineer from RET and our own technical advisor from Gonder University Hospital. The survey went well and we were able to finalise the project proposal. The installation should begin late January of early February and will take about a week. The GBP 11,000 we received from the Kitchen Table Charities Trust will cover just over 70% of the…
